THAILAND: INFOFISH Training Workshop on Identification of Sharks and Rays listed under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and Utilization of their Parts for Commercial purposes for the Department of Fisheries Thailand, which took place from 2-3 May 2023 in Phuket, Thailand. The training was led by Dr Haji Ahmad bin Ali, Senior Advisor from Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) of Malaysia and Mr Tassapon Krajangdara, Senior Fisheries Biologist from the Marine Research and Development Division, Department of Fisheries Thailand. THAILAND: Convened in Bangkok, Thailand, on 28 February 2023, the closing ceremony of the International Year of Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture (IYAFA) 2022 for Asia brought together representatives from governments, small-scale aquatic food producers, academia, and several non- and inter-governmental organisations, who had been actively campaigning for IYAFA 2022 for the past one year. The 17th World Tuna Trade Conference and Exhibition (TUNA 2022) ended on the 13th of October. In his closing remarks, Mr Neil Bohannon, Chair of the Conference, applauded the presence of the world-class speakers and representatives of the industry, who made the event a success.
