Mr Das has more than 18 years of professional experience in sustainable aquatic food production systems and aquaculture value chain development. He has managed various fisheries and aquaculture development projects in South and Southeast Asian regions covering all the facets of aquaculture value chain and acquired hands-on experience on commercial breeding of major tropical aquaculture species including seaweed, marine finfish and shrimp, intensive nursing and farming protocols, formulation of species-specific feed, nutrition and health management of aquatic animals and post-harvest processing. 
 
Following completion of his postgraduate degree in Aquaculture, he worked closely with the private sector including DFID-UK funded SUFER project. Being the Technical Officer at INFOFISH, Malaysia, since 2019, he is responsible for providing Technical Advisory Support to the INFOFISH Member States, while keeping abreast of technological developments in the seafood sector. He passionately advocates low-impact, integrated and climate resilient aquaculture and blue-circular economies to maximise utilisation and processing of biomaterials; and minimise environmental impacts.
