SPAIN: Anfaco-Cecopesca, represented by its

Secretary General Juan Vieites, has traveled to Panama on a business mission with the aim of promoting the Galician fish and shellfish canning sector internationally.

Vieites will participate in the Americas Tuna Conference 2020, which is held on February 6 and 7 and will meet the main representatives of the global tuna industry and organizations from all regions of America. In this edition, under the title "The global reorganization of tuna - our industry at a crossroads", different forums for analysis and debate will be developed about those aspects that raise the interest of a product of such importance as tuna, both worldwide and especially in Galicia, since Galician production of canned and prepared tuna accounts for 60% of the total production of the industry.

The dynamics of this sector will also be known worldwide, which will allow the Galician industrial fabric to plan its internationalization strategy, adapted to the latest market developments. Contacts will also be established with various international companies and operators that can help the Galician sector in its internationalization strategy.

The participation of Anfaco-Cecopesca in this action is part of the aid line of the Xunta de Galicia’s Igape to promote the internationalization of Galician companies, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, FEDER Galicia 2014-2020 operational program.
