SPAIN: The Port Authority of Vigo and Anfaco-Cecopesca

have established a protocol of actions in support and reinforcement of the commercialization and transformation of fishery and aquaculture products in the coastal-port area.

After the signing of this protocol, the two parties begin a process of designing a collaborative strategy in order to contribute to sectoral development and the reinforcement of commercial activities through capacity building actions, knowledge transfer, technical assistance and innovation applied to development cooperation.

The Vigo Port Authority will implement actions derived from its strategic planning aligned with the Blue Economy, related to different areas, including the fight against illegal, unregulated and unregulated fishing (IUU) and food security, designing and implementing the Traceability, Transparency, Quality Sustainability (TTQS) model that aims to improve compliance with the 

traceability regulations and quality control of food products through the improvement of the fish market.

For its part, Anfaco-Cecopesca contributes through its nature and activity to the development and competitiveness of the transformation activities of the fisheries and aquaculture sectors. In this way, specialized advisory activities for services related to food safety and compliance with quality standards will be carried out; valuation of products of low commercial value and by-products through the development of new solutions for human, animal, etc .; application of solutions related to Industry 4.0 in the logistics, fishing and processing of fishery products; minimization of the environmental impact of fishing and processing activities; collaboration for training the entities and actors involved in the chain, ... among others.

This alliance aims to contribute to the sustainable development of the coastal coastal areas through R + D + i actions. With this, both entities will strengthen their role in contributing to the sustainable development goals (SDGs).
