Call to save fish resources

FIJI:Fish consumption among Fiji's coastal communities are as high as 113kg per person per year, the Fisheries Ministry has revealed.

Fisheries Minister Osea Naiqamu said sustainable aquaculture would be the only way to meet this growing demand and reduce the pressure on declining stocks.

THAILAND: - Authorities have ordered manufacturers of kapi, or shrimp paste, to recall their products from the market after they were found to have been contaminated.

Vietnam Shrimp exports to the UK keep growing

VIET NAM:The UK has been a potential market as shrimp sales to the market remained high growth rates while other markets declined. Even though shrimp imports into the UK slowed down, shrimp sales from Vietnam to the market saw positive growth. The increase was owing to the UK’s rising demand for small warm-water shrimp.
