The 6th INFOFISH Pacific Tuna Forum was convened at the Stanley Hotel in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea against the backdrop of high tuna prices, low catches globally and a concerted attack by a grouping of NGOs and academics on the MSC certification of the PNA’s free school skipjack.
ARGENTINA: The fishing authorities finally decided to open a sector for shrimp fishing in national waters, within the Permanent Hake Ban Zone, following the migration of the resource to the North.
The National Fisheries Coordination Office ordered the opening of a strip between the parallels 42° 30' to 43' South latitude and meridians 62° and 62° 30' west longitude.
