Hon. Semi Koroilavesau, Minister of Fisheries, Fiji opens FAO Pacific Regional Workshop on Exploring SDG 14.b and its Indicator 14.b.1 in Nadi.
To support its members to monitor progress towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), FAO is holding a workshop for the Pacific region to explore the SDG 14.b, which aims to provide access for small-scale artisanal fishers to marine resources and markets. The purpose of the workshop is to raise awareness of the SDG 14.b, as well as of related regional and global policy instruments, and to strengthen capacities to collect and compile relevant data. The workshop will run from 9-11 April at the Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi, Fiji and brings together governments, regional organisations, small-scale fisheries representatives and other relevant stakeholders from the Pacific region.
