Pushing the frontier of aquaculture development with innovation
This webinar summarizes the aquaculture innovations recently documented by FAO in six Asian countries. Its focus is on the contribution of some of the modern technologies in improving traditional systems and practices, and their impacts (economic, environmental and social), apart from upgrading the aquaculture value chain. The webinar highlights some of the eco-friendly aquaculture innovations in China, climate-smart and hygienic fish drying innovation from India, community-based mariculture technologies from Indonesia, sustainable aquaculture innovations from the Philippines, innovations for greener and cleaner aquaculture emerging in Thailand, and the multistage shrimp farming protocols developed in Vietnam. The deliberations at this webinar are also expected to be useful for policymakers, potential donors, and entrepreneurs to identify innovative investment domains for large scale adoption and up scaling in the Asia Pacific region.
